My mom called me this morning to tell me my dog had been the victim of an aggressive autoimmune virus, and hadn’t made it. I loved him. Not like how people love cars or a TV show, but like another person. Like that one friend that always has your back, no matter what. I going to miss him dearly.
She then said that my grandma was going to give me a little more than 3k to help fix my Civic or get a new car… That, with the money I have been saving for a swap puts me in the “really nice E36” and “Pretty crappy E36 M3” price range. I’d love to keep my old coupe and throw a Type R engine (which I can afford now) in it, but to most people it’d still be this noisy old Honda. Chicks were never impressed with it until they were in the passenger seat, and even then, “It sounds faster than it is.” was what my last girlfriend had said. So, I have decided on a superbly clean ‘95 325i sedan, with everything sans block and head upgraded to Euro M3 parts, E46 M3 wheels, and Tien coilovers. If it’s anything like my friend’s E36 sedan with an E46 328i swap and I think M3 gearbox, mine should be fast as shit. On top of the speed, I won’t have to explain to people what it is, they’ll see it and think, “Oh, a BMW, an expensive German luxury car.” Even though they’d be looking at a relatively cheap imported German tuner car. Regardless, I’ve been stuck with cloth seats and FWD for far too long.
